Tex Mex pickup impedance

The bridge pickup on my Blonde Road Worn Tele is 7.8K DC resistance.
Is this typical for those pickups?

Yep, I have one that is 7.98K, another 8.08 and had another that was 8.11 K. Naturally they are going to very + or - a little.

Fender Spec Tex Mex Bridge:
Magnet: Alnico 5 Level
DC Resistance: 8.0 K ohms
Inductance: 4.2 Henries

That sounds right to me, I've measured a few that were over 8.00K.

I have a bridge one that is 8.4k.

Stick a base plate on it and you will dig it more than you will believe.

Do the Tex-Mex Tele bridge pickups not come with the base plate? I have these pickups in my tele, and I've always thought there could be more twang.

Here's a sloppy plate install on a Tex Mex:

Later ones, I left off the black screws and aligned the plastic to the threads in the Allparts base plate, and installed a ground lead from the plate to ground wire. I lopped off the added thickness or flange of the plastic so the plastic and steel plates would lie flush. - Shoe Goo or similar is my adhesive - reversible product.

What does the base plate do?
Does it ground to the magnets?

No, it's and inductance deal.

Here's what is said about Fender Original Vintage bridge pickup:

The bridge pickup sports the traditional copper-plated steel base plate for that extra midrange.

So would I want to use a steel base plate? It looks like Boris uses steel.
Do I need to put shoe glue between the plate and magnets?
Or would it be better to not put anything in and just screw it on?

Where can you acquire the necessary metal for a baseplate fix on a bridge pickup? And exactly what is the best way to cut and affix it to the pickup?

Here's how I add baseplates to those Fender pickups with the plastic base and the raised screw bosses.

I like Shoe Goo for 2 reasons:

1) No metal to metal connection between the magnets and the base plate;

2) Microphonic Squeal is likely an issue if there's nothing to keep the metal plate from vibrating against the plastic bobbin.

But I tried one the other way, just lightly held on and in that case, it did seem to work.

Guitarpartsresource once had the copper plated ones but I bought mine years ago there. I'm afraid to order there again. It is a vacuum - they just don't interact with the outside world.

All the rest of mine are from Allparts; thinner chromed steel.

I think Mojotone has the copper ones. I might order from there.
