Recently I've got a set of those "Wilkinson lic." tele PUPs from fleaBay. They are build the same way as all cheap PUps with ceramic bar magnets instead of rod magnets. Big dissapointment. No I will pull the trigger for Fender Nocasters.

Good to know about those Wilkinsons that seem to overcrowd German Ebay at the moment...

But there are really good cheap Tele pickups, too - I've got one of those uncovered Artec Tele neck pickups with the oversized polepieces (Guitarfetish sells those under the GFS Alnico Fatbody name), and that one was a real surprise, sounds better than some Tele neck pickups that cost 4 or 5 times as much...

I have heard those were good pickups but Artec can be hit or miss. I am happy you picked up a good one. I plan on trying one myself.

I did buy them from a seller in Hong Kong; to my surprise everything went quite well. So I payed only $ 30/20 € for a set and not the 50 € the German seller wants to have.

Yeah, how do they sound? I've got cheap plastic chrome covers on several of my P-90s but that doesn't diminish the great tone...
