Pup Origin? FUZZY?
I found this old pup today while rummaging through some stuff -- it's what happens when you're getting ready to move -- and for the life of me can't remember where it came from. I didn't even remember having it.
Anyway, it's got a black fiber top and grey fiber bottom. It has a baseplate, but I'm not sure if it's original. It has staggered polepieces. The string is black. The wires are yellow and black plastic-covered. Here's a pic of the top of the pup: and here's a pic of the bottom, with the baseplate slid to the side: The bottom of the pup is marked: 13 282, but it looks as if the "1" was done with a pen, rather than a stamp (perhaps it was not marked clearly, so it was gone over; I don't know). Any help in ID'ing this pup would be greatly appreciated.

I'll Take a Wild Stab at it.
Aside from the wiring it sure looks like the pickup in my '77 Tele Custom.
Wish I could remember what the pickup in my MIJ Fender Tele looked like. Unfortunately I don't own either of them anymore so I can't check. |

My guess
It is a MIJ Fender. Similar in spec to the 52ri, but with plastic covered wires vs. cloth. It may have come from a high end MIJ tele.
Nice pick-up. Re-sale value is low, but the sound quality is high.
