Ok, so here it is: I have an '07 MIM Tele (natural+black) with factory pickups. I love the bridge pickup but don't even like the neck enough to use both at once.

So here's my question: what neck pickup should I go with to get more of a Chuck Berry (Gibson) or possibly Hendrix (Strat) tune? Humbucker or no?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know the obvious anser is "a Gibson or Strat pickup," but I don't know which one to produce those sounds (Johnny B. Goode or Purple Haze).

The GFS fatbody neck is great! Has a stratty sound with a little Tele pop. Can get a good fat SRV sound....also really affordable.

I concur - GFS Fatbody neck is nice and seems fit what you are looking for.

I'd start by removing the cover. There may be great tone hidden underneath.

Thanks for the info, guys. I will try out the GFS fatbody. I can't argue with the price - not even a big deal if it doesn't out!
