speaking of the JD, how does it differ from 5-2

So the duncan site says the JD has a little more output and lightly less mids, otherwise they seem to be very similar on paper tonally.

anyone with some real world experience care to compare their oakiness and hints of cherry in relation to each other?

What I have is a Broadcaster, which I do like. BUT I'd like to roll off the tone a little less, which means I'd be interested in a slight reduction of brightness and the added bass punch that both offer is a nice bonus, as I use my low E string for leads quite a bit and like rich piano bass notes.

And anyone try the Dimarzio Velvet yet? It might be a contender in the same fight.

Have you tried a Aluminum E/A saddle yet, monsieur 'rich piano bass notes'?

I have a 5/2 and find it has as good bass as any bridge Tele PUP I have played or owned. YMMV

negative on the aluminum saddle. I have all compensated brass right now. Interesting...

Giving this a push, as I'm also interested in the subject - more piano-like, twangier bass strings, and fuller, richer high strings - personally, I was thinking about trying a left-handed bridge on a right-handed Tele to achieve that...
