Bill Lawrence Microcoil

Just in case you didn't see in this recent NAMM thread, Praisecaster posted pics and descriptions of the Microcoil pickup, currently under development by Bill Lawrence. Possibly coming soon to a guitar near you?? Personally, I hope they are planning on a black covering for the coil I don't want that icky green color peeking out from my tele bridge.

I think it took 8 or 9 months for the L-45s (terrific BTW) to be shipped after being shown at the NAMM show.

Presumably these will have some different characteristics to the existing range. So, how will the be different? What are the design goals?

I spoke to Becky last week. The micro coils will be offered as a keystone pickup. They've been ready to go for a while now (namm was aug). The reason they are being held up is that Bill is waiting for a patent for the micro coil to go through.

Now I know why, but when is anyone's guess.
