humbucker in the neck

i was plannig to put a SD seth lover in the neck but I cant afford another pickup so i was thinking.. is it alright to just put it with the noiseless bridge pickup witch is in the guitar now??

the seth lover is 7.2 K neck posish and the bridge 8.1 K
the noiseless bridge is 8.6K

just checkin so it wont sound like crap.. and also im plannig to put a nice bridge pickup later.. like SD 52 or something like that

I'd give it a try; sounds like a fairly good match on paper, but the Tele I have with a neck Seth in the neck and a single coil Tele bridge pup of about 8.0 k, the Seth totally overwhelms the single coil. Not a very good match; after a year I'm just not playing it.

In my Tele I have a SD Seth Lover (neck) and a SD Lil 59 (bridge) which clocks in at 17k. IMO I like the warm creamy neck pickup vs the hot overwound bridge. When it comes to output they are more or less equally matched.

If you have one pickup overwhelming the other, you'll hear a substantial volume drop when you switch between the two pickups, something I try to avoid.

The Albert Collins Tele uses a 6.5k Humbucker -
that because they can be too muddy at 7.2k "in A Tele"

because the placement is a few inched deeper away from the saddles then the Gibsons they were designed for -
If you could get your hands on a humbucker thats Underwound to 6.5k without the Custom Shop Prices - you would be doing great - Fralin may be the one to ask?

the problem is that I dont want a 59 og rails in the bridge... so do you think i should get and smoother pickup if I dont want that overwhelming??

and also.. if I just add the humbucker.. will I always have to krank it up when I switch to the bridge??

I've got a volume and tone pot, from an existing bass, but I'm thinking of putting in a different pickup.

How do you match the rating of the tone and volume to a different pickup.

What numbers match what other numbers? 250K this or 500K that?

Does it matter? If you connect them and it sounds good, is it fine?

I have Seymour Duncans in one of my teles and I like it a lot, but the rest of my teles and strats are all loaded with Fralins and I like Fralins the best.

Its hard to tell without playing the pickup in person, but for the price you can't go wrong with GFS.

I have a Seymor Duncan P90 in the neck position and I like it. It's beefy, maybe not what everyone wants in a Tele, but I like it.
