Strat Polepieces

On my many strat style guitars the radius of the polepieces don't match the neck radius except on my cheap Samick start( great sounding pickups IMHO). they vary from all the same to the HI-e being higher than the B polepiece and other variations. Is this a QC problem and can I get them all tp match the neck radius and still have them snug. Glue needed???? Thanks in advance. ....................Cheers

It's not a QC problem. Different strings ring at different frequencies and volumes.
Unfortunately, most polepiece heaights are based on old style string sets with a wound third string.

Whatever you decide to do, do not attempt to move the polepieces on a vintage style pickup with fiberboard flatwork. These pickups do not have anything besides a coat of lacquer between the polepieces (magnets) and coils. The coil can short or tear. I did this to a set of Texas Specials. Two were fine. One was destroyed.

On cheaper pickups with plastic bobbins, there's usually have a layer of molded plastic between the polepieces and the coil. Moving the polepieces is fine with these unless they have a ceramic magnet directly underneath the polepieces.
