Fralin Vintage Hots?
Hi everybody! I'm wondering how Fralin VH Strat pickups react to overdrive, I've always heard great things about the vintage clean sounds but not so much about the overdriven sound. I'll be putting them in a MIJ Strat. I play through a HR Deville and use various overdrives (TS9, Fulldrive 2 ect.). Thanks for your opinions!

Fralin VH
I put my Fralin VH in place of the Lace sensor pups on a Jeff Beck Strat. It now sounds better to me now. Of course I also replace the body with an ash sunburst and used a vintage 6-point bridge instead of the american standard 2-point fulcrum bridge.

Fralin Vintage Hots for Strat
My MIM Strat overdrives really good with the Fralins... I use a Barber "Tone Pump" and "Burn Unit" right now but have tried FD-2, Maxon OD-820, Sparkle Drive, TS-9, Direct Drive, Nobles ODR-1,etc. and they all sound great... Playing thru a couple of Fender and TopHat amps....The Fralins by themselves are slightly hotter than the stock Pickups in my Classic 50... and also I have the metal plate under the Bridge Pickup.... Since installing them I have been playing the Strat alot more often.... used to play the '52 Tele RI most of the time but now with the Fralins I am really enjoying the Strat!

Fralin VH + Strat = Great Tone
Had 'em in all positions in a MIM Strat. Worked great direct into my amp...worked great with overdrive pedals. Probably one of the best, if not the best, Strat pup for vintage tone.
