Need a "Smokin" esquire PUP?

Anyone know of a sweet smokin pup for a tele esquire? I have a fender custom shop texas special from cij.tele from 2005 and was under the impression it was similar to a "Broadcaster" spec.,but i will probably try it anyway if it's not.I see Seymour has a "55" spec'd antiquity and of course the Don Mare highway still needs to be traveled down.So any input would be helpful.Thanxs.

Depends on what you're looking for. Bite, twang, and sizzle? A more agressive midrange and attenuated highs? My experience is is fairly limited, but if you can go into detail about the sound you're trying to capture I'm sure someone here can steer you in the right direction.

just put one of mick brierley' broadcaster lead pups in and it is really smokin - plenty twang and bite with extra meat - quite spicy at 9.4 k - another great pickup i have used is the SD broadcaster

Go with OC Duff...

I put a tapped A2 custom wind in mine with a 4 way switch(tone switch in/out at both tapped levels)--it's wound to broadcaster (tapped) and then to Cunetto Nocaster (approx 9.6 K) levels. Simply Killer!!
