Pickup winding
I am curious about the inner working of pickups and what makes each one distinct. Dose anyone know of any books I can find to read that deals with pickup construction etc. I gogled and did not find hardly anything.

There really isn't much in the way of books. Jason Lollar had a book out a while ago, but it's about 90% building a winder out of a sewing machine, 5% about making your own Fender style and P90 bobbins, and the rest some very, very basic stuff (albeit important) like making sure the wire spool is at least 4 feet from the winder so it doesn't break as it comes off the spool. That sort of thing.
I say that not to put his book down beause there's a good reason for it. Winders just aren't going to tell you anything about what you're looking for because it would require them to reveal their secret recipes. So barring some tell-all book or site by a retiring winder, yer on yer own, kid... |
