twisted tele pickup
So what's up with this new tele neck pickup from Fender. I know it's in some custom shop models.
Has anyone played one? I saw a post somewhere else that said it was kinda of a rebadged strat coil underneath the cover....but that's just a rumor until proven. |

Twisted Tele pickup (Alan Hamel)
Alan Hamel created this "Twisted Neck" pickup while he was at the Fender CS. It is taller, uses different magnets and wire than a conventional Tele neck pup.
Alan also makes these and calls it the "Hamel Tall Neck", I have one in my '65 Tele along with his standard Hamel bridge pickup. These are really nice sounding, kind of a cross between a Strat neck and a mini bucker sound.. with a 4-way switch you can sure get a bunch of different tones! Hope this helps, Ron |
