How to wire a Twisted Neck Pickup?

Hi,
how do I wire a Baja Twisted Neck Pickup in a standard tele pu wiring? I know the green wire is the cover wich goes to ground, but which of the other 2 (black&yellow) is the hot one for a non-outofphase wiring? I'll suggest the yellow one and the black one goes to ground, but am I right?

thx
Patrick

I gotta ask, hat does twisted mean. Just a marketing term, or is it would uniquely??

I don't think it's wound differently. The internal structure is different, with the poles and the cover and such, but I think the winding is "standard", I don't know.
Regarding the wiring, on my Baja, the green pickup connects to ground, and the yellow/black ones connect toi the S1 switch, but I really don't understand what's going on there...

I also think the "Twisted" in the Name "Fender Custom Shop “Twisted” Tele® Single-Coil (Neck)" has no electrical meaning by itself. Basically, from what I've heard, it should have a taller bobbin and a nickel-silver cover, in comparison to a "normal" tele neck PU, what makes it sound more like a strat neck PU.

@DWBH
Yes, I also looked at the schematic/layout and didn't get it. Thats why i'm a little bit confused about the wiring on a regular 3way tele switch. :)

I listened to the Custom Shop YouTube of the neck pup. It sounds exactly like my copper tape wrapped / shielded Strat PUP I have in the neck of one of my Teles. Chimey and throaty like a nice Strat.

We are cross threading on this:

Your guess is correct.

Yellow is hot - wire that to your non-S1 switch.

The other two (black and green) are grounds and can be soldered to the back of either pot.

You may also want to try a 4-way switch sometime. Your twisted tele pickup is already set up for that with the extra ground wire for the cover.

IIRC, it is a reverse polarity/reverse wound pu.
So in the middle position is hum cancelling

so -if I'm right- you wire it normally

It's not exactly a reverse wound pu, it is just set up with an extra wire for the covers ground. So you are ready to reverse the polarity and/or switch between serial or parallel mode with the bridge pickup in the middle position and the cover always goes to ground. Normally the cover would be wired "inside the pu" to the ground wire from the pus winding.

It does sound different than a standard tele neck pickup, Fender probably just wanted to come up with a catchy brand name. Maybe they called it that because it is a new "twist" on a tele neck pickup??
