lipsticks or mini buckers. 250k change to 500?

power strat is nearing completion... still lost on pick up ideas.

whats everyones thoughts on the tone of mini buckers? weakish humbucker? or is it a fatter single coil with no hum?

lipstick-- same as standard single or really warm bell like single?

ive never done any real electronics work so can i just unsolder the 250k capacitor and resolder a 500k...will that do a lot for the tone?

I have a Seymour Duncan Vintage mini-humbucker in the neck slot of my Tele (the bridge pickup is an SD Antiquity II). The sound and output is in-between that of a single coil and a humbucker and so is the treble content. My feeling though is that is more like a single coil than a humbucker. In your shoes I would not change the pot(s), at least not to begin with -- better to try it first with the 250k.

All the best,
Kris
