Question about 72 deluxe bridge pickups!!

Hey people,
I recently purchased a 72 deluxe tele which i love. after some feedback from the people in these forums i decided to pull the hidden pole pieces out of the neck pickup and had great results.

Im curious if anyone has done this to the bridge pickup as well and if so what kind of an effect did it have tone wise??

Im overall very satisfied with the tone of this tele now, there is a cool contrast between the neck and bridge now but it is a very pronounced difference, and while i enjoy the contrast between the two im curious if anyone can provide me with feedback as to what i could expect from doing this same mod to the bridge?

In its current state other than the removal of said pole pieces from the neck, all parts are original, i havent touched the tone pots or anything else.

I really appreciate any and all responses, opinions, etc!!!

RESPECT.

It isn't that hard to do so I'd say take them out and see how it sounds. If you like it, fine. If not, it's not that hard to put them back.

i would absolutely not do it. the bridge pickup can have very harsh treble already as it is stock, i don't think it would benefit from any extra brightness nor do i think the bridge has any real problems with clarity to start with. it's got a nice full sound with just enough treble to cut through. are you really unhappy with it's sound?

I wonder how it would sound if you pulled the poles out of the bass only side of the bridge pickup? Maybe then it would smooth things out with the treble side? Just a thought, I haven't messed with any of mine yet but I just may yet.

I removed the pole pieces from both pickups after reading your earlier posts.
I like it. I didnt notice the drastic differance you are describing but I also have replaced the pots with 500K.
What I did get was alot more clarity. So I'm keeping them that way.

At the same time I used the micro tilt to shim up the neck so I could raise up the bridge saddles to get rid of those set screws digging in my palm.
