Don't know about the hollow body tone wise, but I have 57/62s in a WD alder body and luv them. If Fender, I like the 57/62 or the 69CSs myself. But you need to hear them for yourself I'd say.
I think you will get some opinion on Keystones, I have luved every MP3 or FLV I have heard of those, but not in person myself. Last edited by robt57 : May 11th, 2008 at 11:40 PM. |

If you can scrape up another $25, I'd highly recommend a set of Zhangliquns. Amazing pups wound to your specs.
For right around your budget, a set of Tonerider Pure Vintage of Classic Blues would do the trick quite nicely. |

Tommy and 'em make some wonderful bodies.
I have an alder hardtail from USACG, and the Keystones $ 72 sound real good. I wouldn't start off from the assumption that your guitar body will dictate a different pickup choice, even if it does in the end. Amongst Fender pups, I'd suggest 57/62 OVs; I guess the 69s cost more. Also, check out Seymour Duncan SSL-1s, I got a set a while back around that price; I guess they're more now.
