Removing tone pot from circuit?

I want to wire my 2004 Am Std without a tone pot. I have heard it opens up the tone. I never use the tone pot so I would like to take it out of the circuit.

My guitar has a Nashville pickup config.

I want volume pot, my 5 way switch out to output jack.
Are there any wiring diagrams on the site like that?

Just snip the wire that runs to the tone pot and that will take it out of the circuit.

I printed off a cool diagram by Terry Downs something like this. I wanted a nashville setup and I don't use tone controls either. His version uses a 3 way switch like Brent Mason's setup and what used to be the tone control works as a volume for the middle pickup. Very cool, let me know if you're interested and I'll try and look that up for ya.

You could also try a No-Load tone pot. It'll be out of the circuit when fully on, but if on some rare occasion you need to roll the tone back you'll still have that option.

You might also consider switching it to a tone control for the front pickup only. This can achieve good results.

or... the most evil approach of all, 3 volume pots and no tone or switch. :-)

That's what what I do on most of mine, just to get that extra "oomph" when wanted!
