mannn its really hard to say one pickup in one guitar will sound just as good in another guitar. I have a set of lollars that sound GREAT in my main strat. i had the pickups out of the guitar and tried it with two other strats and the pickups didn't sound as good in them other two guitars.

i was disapointed because i thought i figured it all out with that one pair of pups but i was wrong.

well at least i have one strat that i can say i'm really proud of having!

I have the 0038 set and that bridge pup is as good as it gets. But it's maybe not for everyone. It's got vintage tone, but in a raunchy, crunchy loud sort of way.
If you like that piercing crispy kind of country vintage tone you'd be better served by one of Don's other winds, IMO.

I have the 0038 set too and really like it. I think Don nailed what I was looking for. I wasn't looking for a chickin' pickin' ultimate spank sorta tone, I just wanted a nice, fat tele lead pickup that still sounded like a tele. With a no load pot engaged it brightens and thins up just enough to sound more traditional. Great pickup. Mines in an under-7lb late '59 slab tele.
