Hi All,
Well, mine had it's first outing last Saturday, and I'd just like to say it's BRILLIANT. Makes a very nice change from playing Strats and Silhouettes all my life. All my guitars have worked very hard to earn me a living over the last 45 years, and I've decided the O.G. will be gigged and played and looked after just the same as the others. Now I would just like to see the Chrome bits just a little bit tarnished, and yes the wood is very soft and marks, but the that's what I love about it, It's full of Character. Take em out and use em, they are truly fabulous. Happy days, Mick.. |

My stepson lives in the upper part of California. He hand makes furniture and does other types of designing for the Napa Valley area.
I went to see him a while back and we were driving into San Francisco. A flatbed passed us on the drive and it had 3 burls from the forests in the northern part of the state. My son told me that the guy had close to $200,000 on the trailer. Beautiful wood. I have always heard that redwood is kind of dark.

Although I sort of kick myself now for letting her go....I've actually never sold a guitar before....I will say that every time I pick up the OGR that feeling becomes less and less. It has quickly become pretty much my favorite go-to guitar....they are a real treat to play

Hi All,
Well I'm 4 gigs in, and last night I really did enjoy the OG sounds. The sticky tacky feeling on the neck is going a little, a bit to much laquer on the top for my liking, but it will get better. I've dropped the bridge pick up a little, the 6th string was really loud but seems to have cured that problem. I play mainly Country (Old and new) so the sounds sit very nice. No back line for me, Boss GT10 direct thru the P.A. I've got a feeling that the neck P/U will be the star of this guitar, very smooth but with just the right amount of bite. Middle position not bad, used it for Act Naturally and Bad Moon Rising, Ghost Riders in The Sky. Bridge is used the most punchy clean and crunch lead. Was I expecting more twang, well perhaps but this OG has much more than that up it's sleeve. Next week I have a mad playing anything gig. Bit of Deep Purple and Gary Moore sounds needed so it's a big test coming up. This is a warning for the nervous pristine players. The OG body is turning into a Custom Shop Relic, it's about as tough as toffee, marks the wood even if you sneeze at it, should look awesome in 6 months. Trip of a life time for me doing a Nashville/Memphis bus tour holiday in September, can't wait, hope the weather is nice that time of the year ! Have fun, regards Mick. |

It's great to see so many Old Growths popping up on here...there can't be many left out there in the wild now! Here's mine (again) alongside my latest purchase...a lovely Highway One I picked up today. Who needs to go out and socialise when you've got Tele's and some amps?!

Cheers! I keep finding more and more that I want! Have you seen those new Select models that are coming out? I'll defo try one, but I bet the tone isn't a patch on the OG! I can't believe the difference between the 3 of mine!
