Well heres mine. Picked the Body up from Reddirt on the RR forum. Pretty basic set up. Ten piece pine body-not hardened or sealed, RR fender blonde and very thin clear, just enough to get the shine you see here. it was tough not to sand through. Pick up is a hot alnico II fat body(wider pole pieces-think quater pounder). Custom Tortoise pick guard, Neck is off my 95 Telecaster special (I gotta have that neck on my #1) controls are from the special but the plate and knobs are from a road worn.
Frankly Im shocked at how resonant and twangy this bad boy is!! I get alot of conmpliments on the tone using this with my Blues Jr. had alot of fun with this.. its aging quickly though. I will try and get a new shot to show how shes breaking in ![]() |

Ok Pine Boy's Riddle me This??
I am building my first Pinecaster but unsure about the finish i want. I have very limited exposure to wood working and finishing. I would like a finish that looks a little aged but also not so thick. I would like a small amount of shine though. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks, sLY PineNewbie |

I guess my Tryggvecaster counts too... the body made of three IKEA Tryggve shelf planks and finished with yacht laquer, neck is off a Squier '51.
Bridge pup is a GFS, neck an old Teisco goldfoil. ![]()

PineNewbie,
Many people use Tru-oil. It is sold in gun shops and depts. Multiple coats produce a nice shine. Personally I've never used it, but search for it here on the TDPRI and you can see the results. |

well i got took maybe. I got the pine body today. i put some cell pictures up a few posts ago. I tried it with the neck and bridge and the bridge rout is off. you can see it in the pic i put up with the neck on it. i didn't see it until i tried to string it. The high e and b strings are out in the air. I wrote the seller i hope he makes good. I REALLY wanted this to work as its just what i wantede an esquire type without the neck hole like my dad is having made in ash by someone. I wanted in pine like leos first ones but NOOOO i had to get the off kilter piney special LoL. well wish me luck I guess i will have to find a body maker to make me one. the problem is they always charge more then i got to spend LoL.

Now I have to find another pine body. The seller just emailed me that I can return it and he will refund my bid plus original shipping. I am out the amount I have to pay to send it back ,but better then being out the whole thing. So this is good sorta. Now who makes pine bodies inexpensively? I paid 108 with shipping on this one so I am looking for something in that range. with the same layout. just the bridge rout and string through holes. I would also like the control rout and the neck mount and bridge mount holes. basically like the one I am sending back but with the rout lined up correctly. LoL.
