I've had a few,The current one is a trashed epi poppa chubby korina V.I got it stripped with nothing on it.I dug up some p-90's and a wilkinson wraparound bridge and threw it together.A kid that hangs around my friends shop made a pickguard for it,kinda rough but it works.A real junkyard dog that plays and sound good.I'll post a pic when i get home.

I've only ever had one V. I built this Masonic theme one for charity a few years ago.
![]() My son also built a beautiful V from a kit a couple of years ago from a kit (he was 10). He did EVERYthing: Painting, soldering, assembling and all. The only thing I did was to file a bone nut for it. (He'd been hearing me talking about the virtues of bone and wanted one for his guitar. Hell, I didn't even know he was paying attention or listening). Anyway, it is all apart for a neck shave right now but I'll post pictures when it is back together. BTW, he wanted to paint is Lake Placid Blue. I tried to explain the Fender/Gibson difference but he wasn't buying it.

Here is my '85 Gibson Flying V. Sorry if the picture is a bit fuzzy (gotta love Nykon cameras). It was thrashed when I got it, so I just had to breathe new life into it. I made a thread in the Finely Finished section following my progress in the revival process.

I own an old one, I bought it new back in 1975. It's been around the block, including having the head stock knocked off twice, the last time was about '85. It's retired now, but I do bring it out for certain blues gigs. It still plays as good as it did when I first bought it.

As promised earlier, here's a photo of my Epiphone Korina V. The bridge pup is from an old Yamaha SG200, the neck pup came from a Squier Strat (I think). And I replaced the small Gibson truss rod cover with a bigger one.

I gotta say, I love 'em with the V-shaped stop plate (is that what you call it?)
