Thanks
Ha ha thought that was just your shortened version of leeroy .....

The necks are exactly the same as telecaster necks, made on the same machines at the Fender Fullerton factory, also there are no differences in the necks that were made in Korea.
The mark one tele shaped bullets had all sorts of varying neck profiles, especially on the rosewood board version, they were generally more chunkier than the mark 2 strat shaped Bullet necks, more like the old 60's neck profiles.
The mark 2 Bullet necks were all one piece maple & machined to a modern D slim profile which is not to everyones taste.
Both the mark 1 & 2 necks will fit any telecaster.

Leeroy.

Hello David
I know we have already discussed a lot via PM, but a big welcome to the club.

That side by side pic of the different headstock profiles is good stuff & shows that necks on the same model of guitar can be quite different.

I am liking the black mark one Bullet more & more - The founder of the club "Jays0n" jogged my memory on another that someone posted a while back, I do think they look cool in black - not saying that I recommend modding original guitars tho ...... :lol

[QUOTE=moonshiner;3067142]My Squier Bullet H2 has a neck date of 2/29/84 (leap year baby!) It's 100% original but it has a 5-way, not 3-way, switch. The other two positions don't make any different changes.. I have no idea why they did this... Mine is sunburst exactly like the one's pictured..

You can hear it here. It's the 1st rhythm guitar to come in. It's in the middle position, but the bridge pickup is in single coil mode.

Welcome moonshiner,
Sorry about the delay with the welcome, got carried away with Bullet tales.
I have a USA Bullet H2 & never bothered to check if it has 3 or 5 way switching, your post has made me think & I will check - also would not know why it is done ??????
You have the best of both worlds with that little baby & the coil taps - sweet !
I got outbid on a squier H2 a few weeks ago - pipped at the post

yes Leeroy
i wound't raccommend too ..anybody to repaint drill or abuse any guitar ..never!!( i did in the past but now i'm trully another person..hihi)
..at least if is a project or parts guitar in some case ...
i do think too .a black and white with black pups and knobs looks very good..
in fact i thinks look less toyish everytime i see it, even if i reconize guitars are our toys at the end,
that combo of colors look more modern definetly ..(but it wasn't me anyway.. previous owners did some mods from tilt the neck to change a pot also)
i do agree to put togheter one just like that as a project...
A V-neck from mighty mite a custom 1 pc body and some hardware it can cost something like 300 euro ...with all personal choice
lets see if someone can make this metal pickguard..or just going to put the simple and rattle free strat hardtail..
now i'm a bit OT... sorry guys ...forgive my passion!

very happy to join the club guys!
and thanks to John Page for make this happen

ok i was a bit hesitant to post this since this is the FENDER bullet owners club. but i DO own an 80s japanese LOTUS copy of the H2. it plays and sounds great, really. but the headstock... ugh.

weird that they'd go as far as cloning the lowest budget models.

Pat.

Pacafeliz - Welcome, its always interesting to see all the weird & wonderful clones.
I also heard there were some companies doing total remakes of the old Teisco guitars that have now become collectors items ie, Kay, Arbiter, Audition, Jedson etc, the mind boggles .......

hi guys soon i'm going to have the third and last bullet ( color matching problems so 3 is the proper number...hihi)
will be a deluxe E1 .. kluson tuners off white body with white pickguard black pickups and rosewood board ( slab maybe korean because of the side dots in the maple )
....hope got the same neck V shape as the blacky i have..
the neck is a bit off center, just a bit i dont think there are big injuries..
the low E string go off board at the 15th fret.. and the high E string tend to go just where the b string is soppused to be...
..this was a 300 euro guitar "as is" off ebay..bergain??
hope to fix it properly and make it sing again

ill let you know.. and add any interessing picture to my picasa meticoulus point to point album!
ciao!!!

The rest is all orginal. Picture shows a double Humbucker that I replaced with the original pickup, and it has the original hardshell Fender case.
Thanks.

Does anyone know or have a rough estimate of how many Standard Bullets (Metal Guard) were shipped out of the Fender Fullerton factory?

Welcome Camdie,

I would guess there must have been thousands of standard Fender Bullets that came out of Fullerton, as the Korean made guitars were returned to the US for assembly as well.

I think that even John Page or someone else that worked on them would only stab at a guess, you would need someone with access to the Fender archives, also the fire at Fullerton wouldn't help matters, probably a lot of paperwork gone forever.

Why do you ask ?

Thanks for the reply yoreel.
I ask this question because until last week I was never aware of the Fender Bullet USA version. I've never run across one in my ongoing searches at pawn shops, garage sales, etc. for interesting instruments. The background of the bullet is interesting and it has a cool collector appeal. I'm mainly interested in the models with the metal guard with the bridge built in. I like the simple concept.

Wow , it finally sold for $745.

The S3 is basically a small strat, so for that reason plus a superb slim telecaster neck, it is probably the more sought after of the 2nd gen USA Bullets.
The H2 USA Bullets usually go like hot cakes & for good prices also.

I know of three S3 Bullets that sold recently for between $660 & $695, but that is the first to break the $700 mark.

I also own a 60th Anniversary Deluxe Powerhouse Strat which sounds incredible when I really wanna rip, but the neck on the Bullet is just so sweet, I keep getting drawn back to it.

There is a wealth of info on this thread and I wish to thank those who provided it. Here's some pics of my Bullet:

I hope one of you can help with a tech question. When the three position switch is placed on the bridge pickup, the the sound is faint. Not completely gone, but not very loud. In the middle and neck position, it works great, but on the bridge, it is much, much quieter. Any ideas as to what is causing it to do that? It has been like this for as long as I have owned it.

Ron
Hey Ron,

Your pics are so much like mine, I had to run and check to see if it was still in the case! And is such similar conditions... check it out:

Crazy.

David, oh yeah, could you show some more of the complete Black one? I mean showing the full Guitar. The one that Leeroy and I were discussing was this one, another from Italy, and oh yeah black looks cool on em I think.

yes jays0n
i like the maple on black of this one... looks got the same straight radius on the fretboard ..some of the mods might give better sound to..
the one i have ...looks and sound very good.. the bridge pickup is slightly overwounded but still in the original package,
the previous owner tilt the neck ... they even put string in the wrong way insted of saddles screws.. but doesnt matter..
i'm going to fix a bit what is wrong ..for the next strings set.

https://picasaweb.google.com/1135103...22290277420834

the picture is not very bright but show my trio...
if you need onother picturer ..a better one ask me ..even some detail.
tomorrow i'm going to take it .. now is very late here..

That looks "applied" The only place I've seen that language was the early PAF humbuckers in the '58 Les Pauls. Who put that sticker there? :-)
