I'm happy to join the club as Ron has just started on my Texas Sisters project. A matching Tele and Strat made from Texas Mesquite. He was delivered 130 lbs of rough hewn wood last week with which to select two solid bodies. He gave me a go on Saturday. Been planning this for a long while. Took a couple of months to find mostly clear old growth Mesquite large enough for a one piece body.

Hope to have pictures to post during the build. He said he might do a build thread. Ron mentioned they will be heavy! Major jones to have them here and plugged in.

Now that should be a great fun and a very unique pair of guitars! Please, keep us posted.

I built a superstructure, and rigged a block and tackle and raised one of the slabs to the table saw today….. Might get ‘em roughed out this week..

Shot from the recording studio.

I'm fortunate enough to own a couple of Ron's works of art. My band was in the recording studio this past weekend, and we'll be back for more next weekend.

I definitely brought my pine monster with me!

Sounded positively killer.

Here's "JENNY"
Cant explain it but this guitar keeps sounding, feeling and looking better every week!
smooth fast neck, and the 5-way switching with keystones makes it a tone -monster

Hi, all.

This is my first post, but I'm a longtime lurker at the forums. In fact, I found out about Ron Kirn from this Forum, and would have been playing a '52 reissue had I not discovered this site.

This January I had the pleasure of picking up my Barn Burner from Ron in Jacksonville. As you all know, he's a great guy who takes great pride in his work. This thing sounds amazing through any amp I put it through..

Here it is plugged into my my modest rig:

Thanks for the warm welcome, all.

And yes, born and raised in Jersey...I'm not too far from our Tele-legend, Bruce Springsteen.

Im getting ready to order a Barnbuster Strat soon. Still undecided on pickups. I want them to be noiseless or close to it. Any suggestions/ reccomendations?
Thanks!

Jazz from Ron

I own a wonderful Tele built by Ron about 2 years old . I'm now itching for a Jazzmaster from him. I talked briefly with him yesterday. I want noiseless single coils ,maple neck. 9.2 radius, slim neck and he is already building one with a Bigsby B5 tremolo. It sounds like the ticket. Has anyone else had a Ron Kirn jazzmaster and how did you like it ? I trust Ron completely. He builds the best guitars in the world and doesn't rip you off in the process.

A little update on the Strat/Tele Mesquite build. Here are the latest shots from Ron. Necks complete and bodies shaped. Little mineral oil to see the Mesquite.
