Thanks, xjazzy. It was a long time coming. I had to sell off a few other guitars to finance the acquisition, but I'm pleased with the outcome.

Here is mine, a 1969 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. I bought it in 1982, along with a Traynor tube amp, both for $500. I think the guitar is worth a bit more now.

I'll never sell it.

Unfortunately as a dumbass in the 80s I didn't leave it stock. ****ty paint job, lotsa new stuff, replaced the pickups, then put PAFs back in etc.. Still, an awesome guitar that plays and sounds great.

Take care...

NGD on my birthday! '69 National "Big Daddy" LP Style Pre Lawsuit Copy

1969 National "Big Daddy". Only made two years '69/'70. MIJ. All stock except for Orville tuners just installed. Obvious Custom copy. All real inlays and bindings. Pickups are great. Zero fret wear. Action and intonation bang on. As close as I'll ever get for $100.

My '07 Les Paul Standard:

My '91 Les Paul Studio Lite:

The Standard has Guitarforce Lord of the Blues pickups and a Vintage wiring kit from RS Guitarworks. The Studio Lite has a Rio Grande BBQ/Genuine Texas pickup set and a Modern wiring kit from RS Guitarworks. The Lite also had all the original hardware replaced before I bought it (and a hole plugged where there used to be a mini toggle switch).

My Les Paul Classic. Gold Top. I changed the selector switch, pickguard and tone/vol controls to black. Still have all the original parts though. Bought this in 1996.

Sooo, I've been thinking of coming over to the dark side, could use some advice :). I need a LP at a bit of a budget price....I was thinking about buying a used Epi and upgrading the electronics, but I see I can get a faded studio loaded with Burstbucker Pros for $799 new, and I'm thinking that makes more sense. Can anyone chime in with opinions on the faded studios, and the BB Pro p'ups? I'm assuming the BB pros are probably brighter, which is why they are putting them in a solid (or chambered) body mahogany guitar. How's the quality on the faded studios?

'09 Traditional Plus in Iced Tea.... Just bought it a few months ago. It's the first Les Paul I've ever owned. I do love it. It's a fantastic instrument!
