Those T 40's are heavy beasts. I know the one I used to have was. The bass player on Hee Haw played one.

It's that Northern Ash. Much heavier than Swamp Ash. Mine is about 10 1/2 pounds, not bad for as big as it is.

I'm new to the Peavey world (eventhough my first guitar is a peavey) and because of the awesomely low price I decided to look for another peavey as my next guitar. I set my eyes on the T-60 and MAN thats one awesome guitar. I made a mission to find one.

I have a Made in the USA Predator Strat......it is currently holding down the #1 spot ahead of my American Fender Strats......and I have a import hardtail strat with a single humbucker at the bridge, no pickguard. I am changing the pup to either a Lace Alumitone or a filtertron of some kind, and adding a Bigsby. I know, a Bigsby on a strat? But when I mocked it up it actually had a Strat-meets-Esquire-meets-Gretsch kinda vibe.....

Does anyone have a pic of the truss rod nut ? The neck on my T-30 is fine, but I wanted to tweak it a tad, and the nut and washer is gone lol.

Defies logic. The neck should have too much relief, but it doesn't. These 2 piece rock maple necks must be tough as all get out.

I have owned many Peavey products over the years and still own 3 Falcons now. 2 of which I bought new in 1986 and 1988 and a 3rd I got of the "bay a couple years ago. its a 1989. I had an active pup'd Falcon I bought I think early ninties but sold it a year and a half ago. My passive Falcons get the job done just fine. I also bought my niece for her tenth birthday a T-30 with the amp case. here are some pics.
1989 Falcon with Fender red lace in bridge

1988 Falcon

1986 Falcon

my niece's T-30 bought off the bay several months ago

Gibson style nut fits it. A Gibson wrench doesn't have a deep enough socket to adjust it though. I had to improvise with a 1/4" nut driver and a chain of assorted extentions which still weren't long enough. The handle on the driver was hitting the tuners, so I had to take the tuners off.

Anyhow, I guessed at it and got it snug to the washer I had to cut flat on 2 sides to get it to fit the cavity, then turned it 1/4 turn or a bit more. Relief is just about right now, probably needs another 1/8th turn. I'll need a longer extention so I won't have to take the tuners off again. Or, get one of the T-handle wrenches from allparts.

I have a Triple Single Generation EX that I think is one hell of a guitar, especially for what I paid. I love the neck and, surprisingly, the pickups (I have no idea how replacements would sound in comparison, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has swapped.)

I may have the nut replaced and see what that does for lowering the action. And, I may replace the tuners, which don't work very well.

Yeah, I keep thinking about finding an old T-60, but for my younger brother, not for me. He had one back in the mid 80s, and as I've said here before, I keep thinking about getting one for him. But the prices they are selling for on eBay are more than what we usually do for birthdays or Christmas, and he needs an amp as well, so I haven't pulled the trigger on one...yet. I'm also afraid that if I get one in my hands it might not ever make it to my kid brother.

Here is a USA made Predator I picked up cheap today. Another pawn shop find...
Love the color it is aging into. Don't know if that is smokey barroom or natural aging but I like it...seems like it is turning honey blonde from white.

Apparently Peavey can't date their older stuff

cause of some database crash/corruption or something.
Tonight I tore the guitar down for inspection and cleaning. I can only guess that in the neck pocket is a date stamp of 8/30/1993. Would anybody concur with this?
Also, this guitar was stark raving white from the factory but is anything but now. I don't know what I would call the aged color but dirty cream or something but I dig it.
I set the trem to float, put on a whammy bar and some Fender Bullet 10s. We shall see how it stays in tune with the floating trem.

Peavey was basically no help in their response other than to say "we don't know" ??? Would think they "would know" if they wanted to...

Yeah, the JF-2 caught my eye: vibrato tailpiece, mini-buckers, modest price...there's a lot to like here. I have a couple of questions, though.

1. Is the top solid and the body ply? I think I read somewhere that was the case, but I'd like to confirm that.

2. Does anybody know if Peavey makes a non-sparkle edition of the JF-2? I like the look of the guitar in general, except for the sparkle bit. That doesn't appeal to me in a guitar.

Here is my Peavey Generation EXP in Gold finish. Picked it ip for £90 so has to be a bargain. SSH cofiguration and guessing its one of the Korean or Chinese made guitars. I love the acoustic pickup in the bridge.

I want to attach or glue come coins to my Peavey Raptor Plus Tk but I am unsure as to what type of glue I should use and if it would stay on the guitar. I am also planning to add some coats of laquer on top

Bought this used several years ago.
Peavey Predator Plus. MIK or VN I suppose.
Don't know the first thing about it, just bought it cause it was cheap cheap.
I keep it set up really high and use it for slide only.
Not a bad guitar, slightly hollow sounding which I like for slide.
