I truly don't have a clue on the pickup specs...but I do have an extra peavey Tele bridge pickup from an old project. I'd sell it to you very cheap, like $10 + shipping if interested. |

Sign me up as a Peavey T-60 owner. I've had it since the mid '80s and was told by a dealer it was a 1981. It has been a good guitar, very versatile and stays in tune well.
It hasn't been played much since I got my American Std. Tele in 1989, but I get it out now and then. I might bring it out of retirement someday! It's white with the black pickguard and has a rosewood fingerboard, everything original.

What shnitzl said. From your description, it sounds like a T-60 that definitely deserves to be seen.

Can anyone tell me if a new Peavey Predator neck will fit a vintage T-60 body?
I'd ask at the T-60 Mafia forum, but they still haven't activated my application for membership after 2 weeks.

Just got this back from le luthier this evening - All the hardware has been replaced, as have the electronics... Except the jack. A new neck's been put on... Nah hang on - Ok, the only original bits on the guitar are the pickup covers, bare body, knobs, strap buttons, and jack + plate. All the original hardware and electronics are in a box, but the neck isn't cuz it doesn't fit. Here it is with my (ch)amp.

Uh, you said it has a new neck. Would that be a licensed Fender neck, perchance? Looks like a Fender decal on the headstock.
Nice color. And that Champ looks cute beside your strat. And is that a price tag I see hanging from the handle of the Champ?

Nah man it's some random neck of oblivious origin. Nice Birdseye maple though not too highly figured. The decal is one the bloke had lying around. It's slightly torn so it sorta matches the rather high frequency of dings on the body.

Oh, I really like Birdseye maple necks and fretboards. I couldn't tell from either picture that the neck on yours was Birdseye; I guess it isn't too highly figured, as you say.
On a totally unrelated, off topic matter. I used to live in Papua New Guinea, and our neighbors were from Auckland. The bloke was from England originally; he was the headmaster of a school in PNG. She was a native Kiwi. They had adopted 3 Maori girls. Sadly, I think they're divorced now. This was some time ago; I came back to Texas 5 years before you were born. Okay, I now return you to your Peavey guitar related discussion.

That's quite an odd combination, but what's colour anyway?
Yeah nah it's not really highly figured but man it's nice... Everything is perfect about it except it's had a few too many and the neck's twisted again, arrh! Got a right good hour or two out of it the other night though.

Has anyone done any pick up modification to their Peavey Generation EXP? I've got a triple single EXP, and although I do think the stock PUPS are awesome considering the cost of the guitar, I would like to replace them.
The sound I would like to achieve is tight and bright. But, I play alot with heavy distortion so I would like to be able to have good note definition. I don't like a muddy sound at all. Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone! |
