TDPRI official Martin owners and lovers club.
I confess: My Martins probably get more play time than my electrics, and my OM would have to be my guitar if I could only own one.

OK I'll join. I have 3 acoustics, a Pete Anderson
Larrivee, a Gitane John Jorgensen and the pride of my fleet, a 1917 O18 Koa 12 fret slot head that has been mine to care for since 1973. No pics sadly but I love the wide V neck and it still plays in tune with a great old time voice. LB |

I love 000-28EC. One of the nicest playing guitars I've ever come across.

Im sorta surprised the majority of these first posts are the smaller body sized Martins instead of the D size. I like em all have always loved Martins the OM21 is my 1st one! got it in Oct 2007 its a 2006 model.
My friend who isnt a player has a 1940 D-18 I'll see if I can get him to email me a pic its the most awesome Martin Ive ever played and in great shape!

Personally, I've never met a Martin of any style that I didn't like. As long as it was set up properly, and in reasonably good shape, every single one sounded good to my ears. Now that's what I call quality control! |

To be honest the (or at least my) OM is _the_ guitar of there could only be one. I feel fortunate to have come across a particularly good copy and added value of it being used. The whole Martin thing is funny to me. I'm not the brand fan boy but Martin-like guitars can just stir something in me. I think looking at the dates and origins of the classic models here give the best explanation. They are designs honed a long time ago and the sounds they make have been in our culture for generations. http://www.provide.net/~cfh/martin.html |

My 00-18 was given to my dad when he turned 8 years old, so I didn't have a choice of body size.
He always had said he wished he had gotten the D-28, but at the time, I suppose there was a bit of difference in the price between the D series and the 00 he ended up with. I love the sound from that little bodied guitar, and honestly, I am amazed at how powerful it is. I am sure the fact that the wood is 50+ years old has something to do with it, but for a smaller body, it is remarkably loud. syf
