Congratulations, and welcome. Sweet looking Thinline!

I have a Logan Custom Tele w/ a Wilkinson P-90 neck pup (in a solid Mahogany body). Shoot, haven’t shown her off in a while, so here’s a pic.

I’m betting you’re gonna be happy with those pups…and the looks…and the playability.

Hmmm... maybe it wasn't the same guitar that was in Bob's inventory but darn close. Really cool none the less!!

Looking at that pic again…

…it's hard to tell there's a P-90 in the neck position. That black pickup cover set against the "blackdrop" of the blackguard kind of gives it an Esquire-ish/stealth appearance. Here are a couple of other pics of the same guitar that maybe show the P-90 a little better.

Anyway, redking99, your dual 90 pups really caught my eye, and I'm excited for you.

Congrats, pat10295. I like the light and dark contrasts that guitar has. The fretboard looks very dark. Is that ebony or a dark rosewood? What about the body tonewood?

Hi guys,

Just a heads up....I've listed my Logan tele in the tdpri classifieds. Great guitar, I've just decided to go a different way.
Cheers,

Larry, I promise that I will send out some pics as soon as I am united with the Logans. I have also ordered another custom from another builder as well, so I will be playing a lot when I get home! But actually I am practicing almost every day here already so I will be in form when I get home!

Well, here's a story that makes a Texas boy/Logan Custom enthusiast proud.

Fellow Logan Custom owner Seth Fullilove and his band The Pales Horses got to play at Billy Bob's Texas.

In case some don't know about Billy Bob's, it's a Country & Western nightclub, billed as the world's largest honky tonk, located in the historic Forth Worth Stockyards district. From what I hear, a lot of non-Texans know about Billy Bob's from references to it in the TV show Dallas (believe it or not, I've never watched a single episode of that show).

But I digress. On stage at BBT with his band The Pale Horses, Seth used (what else?) his Logan Custom spalted maple Tele. Bob shared this with me yesterday, and I asked if I could have permission to post it here in our club thread. Seth gave the okay, so I'm telling the story here, complete with a couple of pics Seth sent to Bob.

Congratulations, Seth and The Pale Horses, and continued success.

Well, I figured Billy Bob's is well known, but I didn't want to come across too Texas-centric and assume that everyone from the far-flung reaches of the globe knew about a Texas honky tonk.

I didn't even know there was a Dallas movie, let alone "movies" plural. Never got into any of it because Beth and I gave up TV when our kids were small. Not because watching TV would send you straight to hell ("Do not pass 'Go,' do not collect $200"), but because it got in the way of spending time with our children.

The evening hours became a time to spend with them, and to have the evening routine of reading stories (I read the complete The Chronicles of Narnia series to them, twice, through the course of their childhoods), reading the Bible together, and then playing and singing to them after I'd tucked them in. We didn't get a TV again until they were teenagers, and of course we monitored what they watched.

Now, about that Logan Tele of Seth's, I for one wouldn't mind hearing more about it. He called it "a spalted maple capped tele style," and when he referenced his using it onstage at Billy Bob's, he said, "Sounds spectacular."

But even from the close-up of Seth and the Logan...

...I can't tell all of the details. I can't tell if the maple neck/board has any particular figuring to it. I'd sure like to see an even closer shot of that spalted maple cap. Looks like a natural finish (in that respect it kinda reminds me of yours, Sanford). And then too I wonder about the works, the pups and the switching.

I wonder if Bob can recall the details?

Yes he can. He emailed me this morning and sent me a close-up pic of the guitar when he had it up on his website.

AS for the specs, Bob let me know that it has DiMarzio Area T pickups and a 3 way crl switch w/ Schaller tuners.

This is Seth and I figured I should get on the ball and become a member of TDPRI. The specs are correct on the spalted maple top guitar except the tuners. They are Wilkinson Locking tuners.

Well, welcome, Seth! Good to have ya on board. Congrats on playing at Billy Bob's, and continued success to you and The Pale Horses.

That sure is a purdy guitar. Under the bright lights of BBT's stage, your Logan Tele looks lighter. Even the pickguard looks white under those lights. OTOH, in the pic Bob Logan supplied, the coloration seems darker, and the pickguard looks aged/antiqued/relic-ed. I guess lighting always plays a part in how our axes look, especially in photographs. In the clear light of day, how does she look to you?

Any chance you have some sound clips or a YT video of that guitar in action?

The guitar is a little lighter in normal lighting conditions than it is in the picture Bob posted. The pickguard is a three ply antiqued white or cream, with a black center layer, then again with the antiqued white or cream. I have had a number of people walk up to me and ask about the guitar, and I tell them all the same. (I wonder if Bob would cut me a deal on the next one I order?)
