This guitars are the best! Can't say I dig the PU's, though, I have put som SD vintages in my Plus. This one is from 97, I think. Got it for around $1500, but guitars generally cost a bit more in Norway. I consider it a catch!

I don't have one... yet. I think it'd be easier to convert my american standard tele into a tele plus than actually finding/affording one. I have, over the past few months, acquired original lace duallies and blues (soldered wire across back instead of bar) but am fretting over what bridge to buy. I know i'll have to rout out the bridge for a humbucker and maybe even the neck slot but I'm not sure whether I should install a strat-type hard tail and a pickup-ring and hope i can make it fit well, or just go with the large bridge with the humbucker slot cut out of it.

Also, my lace dually has this little metal bar with three threaded holes in it on one side that connects the two red laces. Anyone know where I can get one more of these so I can mount it on the modern 2-whole bridges that are apparently the only type available?

i'd go with the American Tele Humbucker Bridge or else you'll see the route from the std. bridge pickup. just swap out the saddles with todays am. std.

to my knowledge 4fun, the finish you have is called 'ebony frost'. the tuners were originally am. std. which were probably convered at some point to the locking tuners featured on the V2 model. and the pot shaft should have been solid to accept the set screw.

Great Combo

I used to feel like the only one with a 3 PU Tele. Sorta like a 3 balled tom cat. I love it! The Pro Reverb is all original 67. I've had it since 1974, Super sound!

rather 'mystic black', 'ebony frost' was on the latter models.

Oh you're bringing it to OKC to finally give it to me?? Awesome!

Nah, I just became a semi-member of this club. I recently just finished converting my american standard to a tele plus... pictures on the way.

Yeah got some snow this weekend, so tired of it.

Yes, I did all of the electronics work myself, as well as installing the new bridge. It took about 6 or 7 hours, though I took my time. Didn't want to ruin that finish and had to make sure everything was straight.

Man that blue lace sensor sounds better than I could have ever imagined, and the duallies are extremely hot-- almost too hot.

Both are gorgeous man. Those Strat Ultras are pretty sick too, I'm sort of looking for a real pretty one like that... we'll see what I can find!
