I now have a Black 2007 MIM Standard, bought from Long & McQuade for 300!
Thought it was an amazing price As I seem to mod pickups, I wanted a thought for the longest time...for a Tele BRIDGE pickup in the Neck cavity, kept lurking around sites....barely seen any info So my friend and I took the plunge.... Bought a 2nd hand Lil 59 at the same time Here she is! ![]() I played my Classic Vibe Custom for a year before this....took some time to get used to the neck....even though its slightly bigger....thing is...I got small hands. Plays so smooth! The only mod after this would be an Electrosocket Jack |

MIM Telecaster, my first mod was swapping the white pickguard for a black one. My friend has a roger waters P Bass with a black body and black pickguard, figured I'd try it on my telecaster. Planning to swap out the stop pups for some Texas Specials.

These are my '07/'08 Standard MIM Telecasters. The black one was the '07, and the natural was the '08. I say 'was' because today I swapped the necks. I liked the way the older neck felt and could immediately tell the difference the first time I played the natural (which is now my primary guitar). Mods...
Black: '50s wiring (tone pot to output of volume pot) High pass filter (a.k.a. Volume cap w/resistor) Pearloid pickguard (thinking about going back to white, if I could find it!) Natural: 4-way switch w/50s hardware (prewired from Acme Guitar Works) Vintage 3-saddle bridge Noiseless pups Black pickguard |

[/URL]![]() 2011 FSR Silverburst, bought last month new for $325 -- it has a ding in the finish (see second picture) hence the discount. Love it. My first Tele, but have had Strat for years.

09 MIM Tele
Here is my 09 MIM Tele I purchased on-line at GC last month for 250.. Neck was warped, and had seymour duncan ( I think little 59er). I am not a fan of humbuckers, so, first thing I did after straightening the neck, was to order a set of fender original telecaster pups! I replaced both neck and bridge with the new ones, set up the intonation, and action, and this guitar sounds like a million bucks and plays great!! This has become my number 1 guitar.. besides my 81 RIC 360/12
I play this through a vox pathfinder (no mods) for smaller gigs, and my ac30 for larger venues.. The only other mod I am thinking about is swapping the pickguard out.. Not sure what color yet, but that is all...

I have a 95 Standard that is truly a great sounding and playing guitar. I've heard others claim that the MIM's from the mid 90's were also pretty exceptional for this model. I can't speak to that since this is only one I've ever owned but it's nice having a top loader with stock Alnico V's in contrast to my others which are more customized.
My recent dilemma was that of wanting a Nashville Deluxe and realizing that I'd have to part company with the 95 to do it. I even ran a couple of ads for a few days before I pulled then. I decided that anytime you feel you have an exceptional guitar you shouldn't let it go but I really don't need another Tele in standard two pickup configuration. So I guess the only logical solution is to add a Strat pickup to my 95 and basically modify it into a Nashville type. That mod on a LPB 95 might be fairly unique. The first step is that body will need to be routed for the middle pickup so it will be off to find a friend with a good router and the skill to do it. Once that's done I'll install the pickup and a push/pull switch on the tone knob for the Strat pickup. It's already been wired with a 4-way so I'm thinking that by wiring that way I should be able to add the Strat pickup to anyone of the other 4 selections with the push/pull switch. I've got a set of Keystones in my CVC and I love 'em so I'm thinking about using a Wilde L-200S or an L-280S for the middle of the MIM. Any opinion on which would be the better of the two for this mod. Anyone see a problem with using these pickups or have a suggestion for others that may also be a good choice. Any other thoughts or advice on this conversion are appreciated.
