I got one of these for my CV. It's an actual Fender guard and it fits well...

Wow, I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing with mine. I have an SK-T-90 that's been waiting for a home, only problem is I've been digging the stock pickups too much to pull them out. Thanks for the link to the pickguard. Did the holes line up alright on yours ?

Just took delivery of mine about an hour ago and it's resting in a chair beside me as I write this. I'm absolutely amazed at it's quality and playability for the money. I've never owned a guitar with such a low and smooth action. My other guitars will be hanging on the wall for a spell while I'm "honeymoonin'" with this one. BTW, my s/n is CGRGO8000905.

Hi Everyone!
Believe it or not this is my first time to post in this forum and it's because I just got a CV Tele. It is great!
My serial # is: CGRH08000698
It plays and sounds really good! The fit and finish is first rate and I'm loving it!
It is by far the best bang for the buck on the market today...

Played at an anniversary party last night and decided to take the new CV. While I haven't worked out all the nuances of it's tone etc., it played amazingly well and my wife who is usually pretty critical of my sound said it sounded better than any of my other guitars. Gotta love that.

Serial number pattern changes

I see recently purchased CVs have a change of serial number pattern.

Previously all serial numbers were 3 alpha (CGS) & 9 numeric. Now they are 4 alpha (CGRG & CGRH) & 8 numeric.

And they started renumbering them from 8 again. The number 8 is lucky to the Chinese.

Maybe a different factory?

Maybe they are selling so many CVs now thanks to TDPRI that they have had to change to 4 alpha for the greater numbers this allows.

Any theories or should I get back to trainspotting.

I wish TDPRI member 'Myfloatingshoes' could have a look in here again. unfortunately he hasn't posted here lately.

Did he elaborate on the change of serial numbers issue or the issue that some have raised about the finish being slightly different (having an almost green tint to it)? Curious as I am on the edge of picking one up but I am afraid that there may have been a drop in quality control perhaps?

Looks like I'll go in at #7 on the list at this point.
I have had this for a little while now and I have added a couple of other Tele's since I got it, but it is still in the top two or three in my collection of 30 guitars. I'm only trying to say that this guitar is still incredible, where as my month old 69 Thinline has gone from awesome to nice. know what I mean?

Thanks Fungus,

Even though I ordered it on WED night overnight didn't get it here to Monday noonish the guitars been getting a workout ever since.

I think its a very good Guitar a more then excelent value EVEN FOR $500.

I DO HAVE A QUESTION how many of you folks have played or owned a
Pine Tele before this guitar?

I find that this guitar exhibits none of the Qualities that pine adds to a Telecaster. This axe is a great Tele but I hope no one feels they have experienced what a Pine Tele can offer and explores no further.

I am not saying this to be a cork sniffer or snob or flamer.

I just want people to experience what a light and lively resonant pine body brings to the music. A guitar that Arlo made or Marty, JayDawg, Glendale has the thing thats hard to put into words.

They all have somthing this guitar does not its the timbre of the Timber.
I explain in more detail in my review linked below. About the wood and what it tells me.

Remember I really like this Guitar, I am only talking about its Pineyness.
Don't let owning one of these stop you from making a Guitar from a choice slab of seasoned and cured pine. You will thank me for it.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
please read my review

I know there have been a number of people discussing the colour. I am not convinced it has changed. I think it is just the different light, cameras, flash, computer equipment that makes it look different in the various posts.

I like the colour of mine a lot!
