Club '52 Av Reissue

Ok, there seems to be a very large number of users here who own a '52 reissue and why not? The model has become a classic itself. Spanning from '82-present times is a pretty good run.

Maybe we could get everyone in and see what years we all have. Post some pictures and discus this fine model. MIJ and CIJ models don't count, neither do partscasters, or MIM 50s.

Here's mine which dates to March of 2007. It's a three piece body and it weighs in at around 7.75 lbs.

Here's my jan. 2004 AV '52 RI Telecaster. As far as I'm concerned it's perfect in every way, and weighs in at 7.78 lbs.

It's a 2-piece centerseamed perfectly bookmatched body and the neck is more than average chunky with very subtle flame pattern (doesn't show in picture).

All the same yet each one slightly different that it makes it interesting. Keep 'em coming, there's got to be at least 50 just with regular posters!

I think as long as it's part of Fender's American Vintage Reissue line it belongs in the club. There's no doubt going to more of the '52 AV butterscotch with the vintage appointments, but all the other's are just different versions of Fender's original bread and butter reissue.

AjayTele - What's with the wear on that copper '52? Is that natural wear?

Yeah, it appears to be natural wear, the guy that owned it before me was a pro muso, so it's probably been played a hellava lot...natural relicing!

If we're talking about the fretboard "wear", I'm willing to bet it's "home made" ... Sorry .

I don't think I follow you....what do you mean?

Do you mean that the wear on the neck has been done artificially or the neck itself is not genuine?

I mean artificially. I've never seen natural wear that even resembles that. I'm sure it's a personal attempt at relicing.

Sorry, meant no offense ...
