Converted 50's Classic
No photo's yet as my camera is being fixed, soon though. I love it, I mean..really ..love it. I would not have believed it would sound so different than a regular Tele but man it certainly does !!

CLUB ESQUIRE
Well, just when you think you're feelin' pretty good about your guitars...
You see something like this: click on photo for larger ![]() I just couldn't help myself. This was a Had to have guitar. I think I need to attend another Esquireoholic meeting This was a presentation display model at Namm 2008 - if I understand correctly. Doesn't really matter that much to me but interesting nevertheless. It just reeks of cool in my eyes It has an interesting tone circuit where the switch in the neck position sort of sounds like a Wah pulled have way back. 6105's, 9.5 radius, Cert., etc. etc. Oh baby! Can't wait.

Something about a bound Esquire.
If I had to order one it would be pretty much the way this was is. Right down to the brass saddles, 6105's and light relicing. The Pickup was custom wound by Seymour Duncan - I'm quite anxious to try this thing out. It should be close to the 59' Esquire Relic - Big sound but still Esquire tone without too much treble. We'll see.

I prefer my Esquire unbound but also appreciate that everyone likes different stuff. I do love the color though! (but now Durtdog's got me thinking about some guy peeing on the neck......) I'm off to strip the stain off my neck.... |

Newtwanger--when are you going to update your build site? I'm putting a highway one esquire together and wanted to see what you say about pickups.
as for the urine-yellow comment, Durtdog, you really should drink more water. |

Now why did you have to show us that?
Now there is just one more Esquire I need. I'm trying to stop but people just keep showin' me stuff like that. I think I need help........
Is there some kind of treatment or 12 step program I should be in?????

The great think about guitars is they come in so many colors and varieties and we all have our own taste.
I particularily like this one because it is different and the color jumps out at me. As for the color of the neck - I like it. This one is only bound on the front. But everyone has their opinion. It's a cool package to me. I'm happy...the parade is on no matter how much rain falls... I do like Unbound Equires too - Check out my White blonde unbound in my avatar. As a matter of fact I like all Esquires At CLUB ESQUIRE all Esquires are welcome and admirered. Love to see some pictures of everyones favorite Esquires

Well
Position 1: Pickup straight no tone control - gives you a hotter lead tone Position 2: Pickup with volume and tone control Position 3: Pickup with preset bassy tone by way of 1 resistor and 2 capacitors with volume no tone control This is probably the most common stock assembly

It's weird to see so many Esquires in one place; they usually don't travel in herds like their Telecaster stable-mates do! That said, here's my favorite:
![]() Since that photo was taken I have installed Dunlop strap locks and a fatter set of slotted steel saddles. I also intend to install a Les Paul jack plate eventually so I can use my right angle cords with it (blasphemy, I know...). |

Someone posted this a while ago. It looks close to being finished in this photo.
Doesn't appear to have a bridge pickup OR the pickup is mounted to the body you don't see the screws and the pole pieces are dark in the photo I'd love to hear if this project worked out as good as it looked:

Cool Esquire, but there's something that bugs me. It looks in the photo like the cigarette burn is at the first fret. Who would stick their cigarette in the played length of the string? You stick it behind the nut. At least I did during my brief career as a smoker.....

Man, stop it you guys!
I've never considered an Esquire......., UNTIL NOW! Can someone explain what the difference is sound/tonewise to me with Esquires as apposed to normal Tele's?

I'll play..
Here's my MIJ '54 reissue Esquire. Currently has the 'guard off just 'cos I felt like it. At first I hated the white guard and wanted to make it a blackguard but now I prefer the white, the body finish is VERY piss-stain yellow though, not very authentic vintagey colour. ![]() And this one I've recently finished putting together. Inspired by Billy Gibbons and old-school rat rods. It's going to have some pinstriping on the bottom when my girlfriend gets around to it for me. ![]() I'm strongly considering doing a relic blackguard Esquire clone for my next project or possibly a thinine Esquire. I'm an Esquire man all the way obviously. |

Hey, Roadman tell about this one?
I used to own one of these MIJ Esquires from the 80's - Great axe. It looks like you installed a set of brass saddles. Nice shot of the guitar.

I got it last spring... Wilkinson bridge and saddles, custom mint P/G ...jack cup ...otherwise original.. bought it exactly
as is off a really cool dude ...his rosewood MIJ would hold him over till he got out of university he tells me. I can't tell you much more other than she plays like cool whip and has mojo to burn... |
