I just ordered a blackstar HT-5 head

I know it's technically a hybrid amp but it has tubes in so that's why it's in this forum. Now I know a lot of people are using LPs and metal guitars because of its nice distorted tones but I'd like to know how it would sound with a tele (and fat strat). So if any fender players here are using one I'd like to know what to expect.

I do not have a lot of experience with these but I have read that these have a Plexi type feel to them when cranked. I guess a bunch of Marshall people left to create Blackstar so it would make sense.

That would explain why guys like Gus G play through them and you see them a lot in the metal world.

Just been using the emulated output on the head with my tele and it sounds great! Nice thick overdrive and the cleans aren't bad either. I'll make a NAD thread when I get a cab for it :D

I've owned one before, they are great little amps, sweet metal bedroom amps. I just needed some more power out of it. I know a lot of people use the HT-5 as a preamp and run it either into a poweramp like a 5050 or even in the effects return of a larger amp head. Congrats!

I had one and sold it ,It was an ok amp not great.I didnt like the shared EQ for the clean and Dirt channel. It sounded pretty good with lower gain dialed in, lots of clean headroom, i didnt like the digital reverb.I liked the clean channel much better than the dirt.
