There is a new "hidden" BBCODE for those of you that are tech savy and want to embed YouTube videos in your posts. Simply use the [youtube] and [/youtube] tags around the "movie code" in a YouTube video to embed the video

Here is an example:
Example - [youtube]ehn15tRy7oE[/youtube]

For example (notice the quality lip synching in this one):

I'll try to get a clickable YouTube icon for the BBCODE strip later.

A control to the player to stop the downloading would be helpful. Closing the window on a You Tube page stops it, but if you've started one of these linked on this page and it's not finished downloading yet, then you decide you don't want to hear that one but want to hear a different one, so you start it; both may be downloading at the same time. Not a big deal for broadband users, but it would be a real pain to be in that scenario and be a dialup user.

You can use the "back to previous window" function in IE and then come forward again, and they will have stopped.

It is a mod available on the official vB mod website: vbulletin.org.

Robert -- Look at the link you've posted. Then start over and look at the instructions here. There is nothing about the link you used that is a video ID or link.

You need the video id from the video link.

Also, notice you did not use "[" brackets all the time. One of your brackets is a parenthesis.

So find the video link URL for the video you want to embed. Then take just the ID from that URL (it's the characters after the equal sign) and put JUST THAT between the two YouTube tags. Or you can paste the video ID into a post, then highlight that ID and click on the YouTube button on the BBCODE bar in the post editor.

Here is an example:
Example - [youtube]ehn15tRy7oE[/youtube]
