A note to the powers that be...

Just wanted to say that the new page-top graphics and layout look great and are a definite improvement. Nice work! Just when I think it couldn't get any better around here.

I'm seeing it fine. I'm running at 1280 x 800 resolution.

The homepage is 980 px wide. If you are running less than 1024 px wide on your monitor you are in a super minority with older equipment or incorrect settings that I can't support on the homepage.

My guess is that you simply don't have your video adjustments set correctly if you are set at 800 px wide.

We track monitor settings of our visitors and less than 2% are using 800 by 600 settings.

Use Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari and you'll be fine. If Opera doesn't work with the homepage then something is seriously wrong with Opera because the page also is 100% validated for solid XHTML coding.

I'm guessing you must be using something unconventional with your Opera setup.

I installed Opera 9.6 today and the page displays perfectly in Opera. So, I'm not sure what problem you are experiencing as I can't repeat it.

Somewhat related note: Will the rest of the site follow suit and share the color scheme with the homepage?

!?! It did on the day the new homepage was introduced -- 3 or 4 weeks ago. What are YOU seeing?

The home page is black, but the rest of the site is blue. The style of the site changed(thinner navigation bar, overall cleaner look) though the color did not.

I'm surprised you centered in on those few things because 80% of the two sections have been made to look the same.

The home page is a different software and so some of the things are different -- such as the menubar.

Also, the home page is 980 pixels wide while the forum is "fluid" and can be wider or narrower.

The background, what you call black, is the same all over, you just see more because the homepage is fixed width at 980 pixels.

So, I guess in answer to your question -- no the specific things that are different between the homepage and the forum will not be changing.

Just an observation from a newbie, but with all the graphics, titles, and pictures at the top of the screen you have to scroll down to do ANYTHING on this particular forum. Just pointing it out, as I'm a member of a number of forums without the large top banners. The scrolling down is a bit annoying.
