Density map of where forum members live?
I was just thinking, I wish there was an easy way to take the location information about members here and translate that onto a zoomable map of the world, like in Google maps or something.
You know, the kind of map that looks like this: ![]() And no, I'm not suggesting this is a feature to add to Paul's list of 1001 things to do! I just wish some programming genius could take the member info and do this automagically. |

Bill, Paul will have to answer, but I think he does have something like this... I kind of remember him posting a world map and it was pretty neat...
There were way too many members in San Francisco and we proposed banning half of them to make it more fair for some of the other states though... (I keed, I keed)

Hey guys, I'm working on about half a dozen projects right now and this is VERY low on my priority list.
By the way, a while back I looked into a mod that works with our software to do this and decided against it due to the massive server load they would hit us with. I couldn't justify the overall slow down for a map. If I get time I'll consider looking to see if something better has come along. |
