banned members and posting guidlines

I was not aware that a certain person was a banned member and that discussing banned members was not allowed. I am sure others were not aware of this either. Can this be added to the posting guidelines for future reference. I reviewed them and did not see a mention of the sort, unless I did not look hard enough. Thanks.

This is not a blanket rule. The banned person posted about has been banned 5 times here and has become persona non grata due to their actions (and their vile posts here as well).

I don't want anyone to promote this guy on the TDPRI. Which is what posting links to his website does. So I will remove all posts about him.

There are one one or two other banned members that fall into this category and everyone of them has threatened lawsuits if they are discussed here.

So, there is not really any way to make this into a hard and fast rule.

That seems to be harsh, not only to be banned, but never to be spoken of again. Isn't that a little primitive? What society was it that used to bannish citizens and not allow even the mention of their name afterward?

Martin...

Huh? If you owned a website and this guy said to you what he said to me you'd not have him become a topic on your website again. Capish?

Seems fair enough to me...it must have been pretty bad and the 5 bans should have clarified what is and is not acceptable IMHO.

Thanks for the info Paul. I didn't realize all that had gone on.

It's your site and you are free to do as you wish and I appreciate that.

I enjoy this site quite a lot and don't want to purposely go down any bad roads, thus the question. Thanks.

This is a great place and like all good things, I'm sure it takes stiff measures to preserve it. I enjoy my time here, and didn't intend to upset the boss. And I do "capish".

There are 30,000 TDPRI members, 98% of them don't have the faintest idea whom we are talking about. 98% never heard of the guy, or knew he was ever a member.

He was banned for posting that it was a good thing that Eric Clapton's son died because he would have been embarrassed to have such a rotten guitar player for a father. And, he followed that up with a post that all women should be raped.

I don't think that really needs to be announced. Some people may be curious, maybe even nosy about it, but it doesn't really demand an explanation.

Thank you , sir, for ridding us of such a thing...that is not to be tolerated...thanks again...not even remotely appropriate for this fine place...

Just as long as we don't get put on double secret probation if we should happen to unknowingly mention someone like that!

Paul...

I wasn't going to comment on this until I read your last post.

I am genuinely grateful that I didn't have to read such repulsive comments in the forum.

Serious and heartfelt thanks for removing the posts and the person that posted them.
