Gig posting

Paul:

I forget your opinion on posting gig announcements. I think I remember that you felt they were commercial oriented and do not encourage them. If this is not true, then do you have a preference, location or format that you would like to see us follow?

I'm sure that you have covered this topic many times. But I forget.

No, gig posting is allowed no problem. Bands can post about their gigs and their CD releases.

Promoters can't post about the shows they are putting together unless they are in the band performing. Record companies can't post about the CDs they are releasing.

So, if it's your performance there is no problem at all.

Paul could there be a sub-forum dedicated to gig announcements? It might make it easier to find rather than be buried in either bad-dog or the main tele forum.

Just a thought. Keep up the great work.

At this point this is not a major item. Plus the TDPRI is an international forum and gigs are local items. It's like running an ad in Sidney for a concert taking place in Indiana in the hopes that somebody in Sidney will be in Indiana at the time of the event. Doesn't make a lot of sense

I don't have a problem with it. I just don't think it needs its own special home.
