Butterscotch Blonde-esque Tele Finish on the Cheap?

Hey Guys:

So I got a deal I couldn't refuse on the Ash Tele body attached and decided to build it using mostly parts I already have. I'm really loving the vintage Butterscotch Blonde finishes and I wanted to know how to get away doing this on the cheap (i.e., using what I already have and minimal other purchases). I have cans of Stewmac Vintage Amber and Clear Gloss (As well as Tobacco Brown, Black and Cherry Red). I've seen some teles with Minwax's White Washed Pickling Stain that looked beautiful and I thought that spraying the Vintage Amber over it might give a decent BSB look). Does this sound feasible?

Also, the body is unsealed and the edges need some rolling/rounding. What would be the best order for finishing the body (seems everyone has a different opinion). Light sand, sealer, grain fill, Minwax stain, amber, clear?

I plan to update this thread as we go.

I would go: light sealer (to make sure the grain filler is only in the grain, especially if using dark grain filler), sanding sealer or vinyl sealer, stain, amber, clear coat.

How about rolling the edges? Hand sand?

So I'm told this body is a USA made Fender Body. Based on the neck pocket stamps and the micro tilt hardware route, perhaps this is true? There are no visible defects but the body does seem thick and fairly heavy. So the edges need to be rounded a bit, I'm thinking this should be fairly easy by hand. Any suggests on rolling the edges?
