Strip my SRV Clone

So a few years back,I got this Mexican Stratocaster that some guy in Nashville had tried to relic to replicate Stevie Ray Vaughan's Number One Fender Stratocaster. He did a good job for a poly finish, but it just wasn't realistic enough for me! He did a great job on the hardware though!

So I decided to strip the paint off and staind the areas that were covered with paint to match the already dark wooden parts....the pics below show what happen....

What should I do next? Cause I've staind it like 4 times now,and it's only gotten a little bit darker. how can I get the lighter wood areas to match the dark areas? Do I need to and it some? What kinda stain?

Thanks for yalls time

I'd clearcoat it and rock it like that!!

Seriously, I doubt you'll be able to get the stains to match at this point without a ton of sanding. There are other factors at play here, like dirt and sweat on the parts that were previously exposed.

I'd go for a solid color.

I agree. A completely opaque color all the way. Maybe Dakota Red?
