In hindsight I shouldn't have said "One more coat should do it"

Color coats turned out great, clear coats going on...and the last one ran like a thief!

So, how long should I let it cure before I try to sand out the awful run?

If it's nitro and it's not too bad another clear coat could reflow it enough to smooth it out.

I just did my first guitar this fall. Runs all over the place. I was very sad. I just let them cure and now I'm wet sanding them out. Not sure if that is the way to do it but it works for me. They really give a guitar the "homemade" look.

I'm going through this now. I am on can #4 of Deft Lacquer and I'm wondering just how many cans it will take to cover my glitter job. I'm estimating another 3-4 cans to build it up enough before I will feel safe sanding it.

Now I need to buy a respirator before I get black lung doing this. My nose hairs are getting stiff and I find myself thinking, dude, wheres my car, but then, i don't own a car, I drive a truck and its in the driveway....I'm gonna go lay down now.

Deepsouth,
Deft has some really incredible shrinkage. you also should let it sit a while and stay warm.. cause it also likes to crack and chip....grrrr...
