Any sources for Sherwin William's lovoc lacquer?

Sherwin Williams won't bring in less than 5 gallons? That seems unusual. I deal with the Sherwin Williams around here a lot (for both construction work and guitar stuff) and I've never run into an issue like that.

Try their Commercial Coatings store, at least here in San Diego, they can / will order it in by the gallon.

Sherwin Williams is the only place you can get it, but they do have different division stores like their Home stores, Automotive, and chemical coatings.

A lot of times local stores can't order 1 gallon at a time. Our local store can only order special stuff from the main supplier in boxes of 6 or large five gallon buckets. If the store doesn't think the other five gallons will sell, they won't order it.

The best thing for you to do, is actually contact your local Sherwin Williams representative. He should be able to tell you which stores will order the lacquer for you, or tell you where you can order it. I know here in West Virginia, I can buy direct from the PA store, and they will ship to me.

I filled one of these out, and a guy called me the next day. Very friendly and extremely helpful.

I just called my local S-W store and they had a gallon sent
to them from another store. I waited only a few days and
paid the normal price.

Your local S-W store won't do this for you?

I had contacted SW online and they sent me the address of the SW Coatings location nearest me. I wrote them back and asked if my local store could order a gallon for me to pickup there. My response back was yes.

I was wondering if its one of those deals that depends if your local store wants to fool with it or not.....

My local SW store offered to order anything they carry, by the gallon. He also had some five gallon cans going cheap because they can't keep it in stock more than three years.

There are three local SW stores in my area, and only 1 store will order LOVOC for me.

My local SW would only order me in 4 single gallon cans at a time. Apparently they get shipped 4 cans at a time or one 5 gallon can. Their reasoning behind it was that they will never sell the other 3 cans unless I buy them. I went to a SW in San DIego and they poured me off a single gallon from a 5 gallon can.

They can look in their computer and check which stores nearby have it in stock.

The SW store near my home was very accommodating. They looked up the product and had single gallons of Lacquer and Sealer sent from another store so I could try it out. They even opened a commercial account for me and gave me the commercial discount. After I told them I would want more, the store manager said he would order the required 4-gallon minimum to keep on hand so I could buy a gallon at a time when I needed it. That's pretty hard to beat for customer service for someone who is unlikely to buy more than a gallon a month. Bottom line: it all depends on the store and the store manager.
I've completed one Tele using Lovoc and have three in the works. So far, so good. The fumes are much less intense than Behlens.
