How have you finished a Lacewood body?

New build, Warmoth Strat neck and body, body is in lacewood and I can't decide how to finish it. I'm thinking just thin clear lacquer and let the pattern show through. Pickguard is black.
Has anybody else done a lacewood body? How did you finish it?

I did a Bass with a Lace Wood top I used a red dye then just clear coats came out looking all right. I have also made some other stuff with Lace wood with just a clear coat even that looks good . You might get a piece and try some deferent finishing options
