where to find tru-oil?

I know i can order it online but i thought that there would be somewhere that i could find birchwood casey tru-oil. over the past two days i've been in and/or called every hardware store, gun shop, home-depot, lowes i could find. No one stocks it. Not a big deal to order it i guess, just slightly disappointed that i cant start doing samples this weekend. Totally free this weekend and thought I could get started on my project....oh well

Anybody know who stocks it in the philly/delco area?

Any gun and sporting goods store will have it if your local Wallyworld doesn't. It is originally for the refinishing of gun stocks.

If Walmart doesn't have it call Dick's Sporting Goods (if in your area) or just start calling gun shops. One bottle should be enough for a body and neck... ah-hem... if you don't knock it over and make a mess like I did.

My local Wal-Mart doesn't carry it. Maybe it's regional. But I'll check out Dick's.

Doesn't it bother anybody that woodworking catalogs and wood finish suppliers don't sell this stuff (the woodcraft listing being the exception that proves the rule)? Maybe you should start thinking about a more universally recognized wood finish for a guitar. If you insist on a wiping varnish or oil finish, check around for things labeled "danish oil" like Watco.

I used the Tru-oil with Colortone Waterbase dye on my last neck and it was a breeze to apply. No fumes, easy clean up. Neck feels great. I just picked some up at Dick's today. Haven't tried the Danish oil yet.

Birchwood-Casey

Surf your way to Sporting Goods Products, then Wood Finishes. Remember, this is gunstock oil.

Just to addto the list, I saw it at Big 5 recently - near the guns.

Tru Oil makes a great finish. It is really easy to work with. Adds great pop to any wood with flame. For more recognition on TO on guitars, do a search on the reranch forum. Some beautiful examples there.
