IMO, lacquer is lacquer, acrylic cures faster.

I don't know.

I do know that Watco has been bought by one of the big boys and is evolving into a mass market product for Lowe's and Home Depot as opposed to being a high end product.

I disagree, Ian. Acrylic lacquers dry crispy hard and inflexible. Nitros continue to expand and contract over time. If you spray acrylic over nitro, first the offgasses in the nitro will be trapped and you may get blush. Secondly (and crucially) the acrylic will refuse to expand while the nitro underneath it does, and it will crack. And it does not look authentic or cool - it just means a gigantic mess.

It's nitro. It is my main lacquer. Good stuff and it has a very good spray nozzle that shoots a very fine mist. If you use it you will be able to tell by the way it smells.

I'll keep an eye out for it, Steve.

I've been using Deft a long time and I'd like to try something else for a better understanding of what is good and bad about this product.

I like the Watco lacquer. Works even better if warmed up in a bucket of hot water - remove the label, put it in the water to warm up, and be sure to dry the can and around the nozzle before going anywhere near your work with it - sprays finer and flows better. Same goes for any lacquer whether clear or colour.
