Abralon Finishing Pads Anyone?

I just finished the second guitar I have used them on. After the final clear coat is done, I wait a week then use the Abralon 1000 pad with mineral spirits using only the weight of the orbital sander. I keep it wet and move to 2000 and finally 4000 grit pads. The buffer is next and I am able to go straight to "Fine" followed by "Extra Fine" buffs. My final polish is using "Swirl Remover" using a foam pad.
This is the Butterscotch Blonde Blackguard I just put together today for Cherrick here at the TDPRI. He picked the parts for an awesome guitar build. USAGC Body and Neck, Callaham Hardware and Don Mare "Nancy 2324, 2 Speed" Pickups. I want to keep it!

I traced the Fender 70s logo in Adobe Illustrator, and tweaked it a bit.

Then I had FastSigns make me a chrome adhesive decal.

The result looks like the current American Deluxe chrome logos.

well, after much head scratching and teeth gnashing I sanded off the deft sanding sealer I'd brushed on and had nothing but big problems with. It just never really seemed to dry right, I think I brushed it on too thick. So I figured I'd try the deft spray, $10 at a local wood work supply.

What a difference. Once I got the hang of spraying it was actually relatively easy to get layers built up. Today I hand it over to a kid who has a spray booth at his house, he paints a lot of car and bike parts.

This time next week I hope to be admiring the new finish. oh boy.
