not familiar with the product, but one question: are you going for *complete* soundproofing, or just a treatment that holds sound leakage to a minimum?

All-
I already posted this on the Reaper board, but I thought I'd try here too.

Any idea how to change the Beats per minute setting in mid-song? I'm working on a tune that has a fake ending and a coda that's faster than the body of the tune.

All good advice here, I would make sure that whatever you're using for recording works well on Win 7-it's still kinda new, so there may be some bugs that need to worked out there.

You can record GREAT drum tracks using only 4 mics (meaning 4 channels on your recorder) but you need a) good mics b) good placement c) good sounding drums and d) a good drummer!!! Here's the Glyn Johns micing technique, which he used on a TON of stuff through the 60's and 70's...

http://danalexanderaudio.com/glynjohns.htm

I also have used office cubicle dividers as gobos-they work amazingly well for that purpose,. and usually are not too hard to find. In fact, we took 5 of them and built a cage around the drums-cut the bleed almost to nothing!!!

Good luck, and be patient with it-it can take a little bit of time to dial it all the way in...

Hey Axis29. Sounds like your pc may not be up to handling audio processing. Maybe an upgrade of ram etc. might help. I use Cubase on my PC with no problems. I have a Tascam US122 interface which works really well. A friend of mine records CD's which he releases (proffesional quality) on a mac and which is now the only platform for Logic. Perhaps you should consider which software you prefer to use before deciding on mac or PC. Hope this is of some assistance.

i'm into doing a thing where i basically just hit record and start writing. then i dump to an mp3 and share it. might make some cringe..probably turns some people off.. maybe i'm lazy...even a bit unmotivated..but mostly... i'm impatient... i'm a songwriter and production is kind of boring to me. maybe that will change, i'm not sure... i haven't had any lightbulbs with production yet... bottom line..for me, i live with a lot of mistakes in my recordings.. most of them are pretty darn raw. i become endeared to those performances.. though i might be the only one.
