I rarely play the electric at my house plugged in, most of the time I just play the electric with no amp because my brothers and sister hate how much I play. I remember when I got my wisdom teeth pulled out years ago I was home alone so I took my cheap guitar and 5w amp turned it all the way up and played until the drugs kicked in and I fell asleep, the next thing I knew it was 6:00 pm and everyone was home and I was laying half asleep on the floor. In other words I never get sick of playing EG at all, if I didn't have college I would stay home and play my sax and electric guitar nonstop.

Does anyone have a handle on the correct voicings for J. Jackson's "That's the Way Love Goes" as played by Norman Brown? Also theres that funky little accent triad(?) thing between 0:42 - 0:45

After the hammer-ons at the begenning here's what I'm doing (right or wrong)... 1st three changes:

E---x----3----x
B---3----1----3
G---3----2----3
D---5----3----3
A---6----x----x
E---x----x----x

Except for that Gm7 at the end (and I'm not too sure about that) I don't even know the names of those chords. Anyway, any ideas for correct voicings and the arrangement? I'd like to learn the entire tune to use as a basis for instrumental improv.

So to speak, I don't read so written words and/or dictionarys are of little help but I'm very articulate and speak well! Comprende' ?

Many thanks in advance!

I don't know that one. Is that one of those internet only sensations sweeping the country? Like "chocolate rain" or something?
---End Quote---

What, the song? Who knows! I never heard this song. What's chocolate rain?

I had trouble with this song. I found the notes but it didn't flow right. I suspected either an alternate tuning or a capo and even tied a capo but I had the wrong fret. I actually learned that I need to listen more closely. I've been playing an acoustic a bit more lately and I'm finding out how much the capo is used. I'm starting to hear how a capo influences the sound. It sounded like a capo. I should have given it more experimenting myself. The pressure was on. I didn't check out that song all week and rehearsal was upon me. I freaked out looking for help. YouTube has been a new find for me for help with songs. I should have done a search there right away. I actually found it less than 5 minutes after my first post.

Meanwhile, thanks for all the truly meaningful and inspiring helps!

I am just now getting to the tabs that go with the video you posted. It is really a great discovery....not just because the tab is accurate but because a backing track is provided and the video file is high density so it can be blown up really big on the computer for study. It is just a great little package. I really think that after mastering that solo there would not be much left that could not be learned. That solo is just about the pinnacle of guitar work.
