Ahhh bologna, here at home we call a big thick slice of fried bologna a "West Virginia steak"! lol
Slap some hot mustard on there, some home made wheat bread, mmm mmm good!

Then there's the "welfare meatloaf".
Open a can of Spam or Treet, shake it out whole onto plate, drown it in ketchup, nuke it for a couple minutes and bam! Out comes a "welfare meatloaf"!
(although my family has never been on welfare, and I've never eaten this concoction, I had friends who were and did. I felt sorry for them, my mom has always made the best durn meatloaf you'll ever eat!)

Also I had a friend who used to eat peanut butter and onion sandwiches piled high with salt.
Yes you read right.
A half inch each of PB on each slice of bread, slice of onion, pile of salt. Results in a 3 inch thick stack of the most sickening thing ever, but he liked them. He grew up poor in the old days when they ate what they had and were thankful for it.

And Larry F: I long ago caught on to your scheme of mind control and thread-domination, but I quite like your long, informative and thoroughly interesting posts. So keep'em coming! Lol

Lost a wallet full of cash, etc, on a sailing ship in the gulf @ 10 years ago and started carrying wallet and cash separately (money clip, different pocket). Used this on a vacation about 6 years ago and realized I can just LIVE like this. Fits in front pocket in dicey neighborhoods, around back as usal most days.

And I am also a huge proponent of the "Put it in it's place EVERY TIME" rule.

Sorry man, if you see it that way (and it might seem like that to some folks), but hear me out, for just a minute.
I really don't want to get in a ruckus about it because I've had this conversation before with other musicians, and I know there are 2 distinct camps on this, so here goes...

I'm no kid, I remember recording AM radio onto my cassette deck and making mix tapes (with 2 mono decks wired through the headphone jack) back in the late '60's. Although many people (cough, cough: RIAA lobbyists) fought the electronics manufactures back in the '60's about the ability to tape live radio broadcasts, every album I bought as a kid was based on what I liked from my homemade mix tapes. I bought, and still have a LOT of albums.

Fast forward 40 some odd years, someone tells me about a new group they think I will like... I go straight to youtube, grab a couple of tunes, and put them on my iPod.

If after a couple of listens, through the iPod in the car I like the tunes, I buy the rest of the album. And believe me, I buy a LOT of albums, so much so my wife complains about how much I spend on music. I will post pictures of my overflowing CD racks if you want.

If I don't like the tunes I just delete them from my iPod. To me it seem the same as the old days, just different media. Of course YMMV, but that's how I see it.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Just my $.02.

My sister-in-law lives in the nearby mountains, about thirty miles from here. She had goats for a long time, then they started getting out of the fenced in area, and climbing on cars. Got on her husbands truck, no big deal, got on the nephews truck, slightly bigger deal. They also attract the mountain lions, (they think.)
